Before you invest in a Digital Asset Management platform, the first thing you need to decide is what type you need. There are thousands of vendors out there – and we like to think of them in two categories – Operationally Friendly and Production Ready.  

The Operationally Friendly DAM platforms (such as IntelligenceBank) are mostly used by marketing departments who need to manage the life-cycle of their images, and give access to other stakeholders – including partners, resellers and non marketing savvy members of the team. These platforms need to be easy to use by everyone. In contrast, the Production Ready DAM’s are very sophisticated, enable designers to use the DAM software for print and video production and are a great way of saving time – but are often tedious for non designer users
